International Seminar on Machine Intelligence

Prof. (Dr.) Ajith Abraham, Director - Machine Intelligence Research Labs (MIR Labs), Washington, USA delivered the keynote address in the International Seminar on Machine Intelligence held at Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology on 20.01.2017. Dr. N. Devarajan, Dean-Research welcomed the gathering and Dr.M.Paulraj, Principal presided over the function. Dr.R.N.Uma, Professor & Head/Civil introduced the chief guest and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.K.R.Jothi, Professor & Head/CSE. Ms.S.Sumathi, AP/CSE coordinated the seminar. Prof. (Dr.) Ajith Abraham expressed his interest in establishing a Center of Excellence in Machine Intelligence at Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology.

Internet of Things - An Initiative




The third program in the Professional Development Series "Internet of Things -An Initiative"--- Three days Faculty Development Program took place during 28 November 2016 to 30 November 2016. This program embarked sessions on Internet of things-Introduction, IOT Architectures, Arduino UNO and Raspberry Pi board and Pi 3 Model Implementation, SD card with Raspian OS,Power adapter for Raspberry PI,VGA to HDMI Converter, Bread Board,Potentiometer,Bluetooth module, Programming sessions and Hands on sessions.
Academician Prof. A.Bharanidharan, Assistant Professor — Computer Science and Engineering, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore acted as Resource person. Faculty members from department of CSE, EEE, ECE and IT of Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology registered for the program. The program witnessed great enthusiasm and appreciation among the participants.

One Week Faculty Development Program on “Multi-Core Architectures and Programming”





The Department of Computer Science and Engineering @ Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology (SRIT), Coimbatore, has recently launched a new series of Faculty Development Programs namely Professional Development Series with the theme as "Transforming the Teaching Landscape". After successfully completing the first program “My Profession, My Commitment, My Life” in this series during 16 – 18 November 2016, the second program in the series “Multi-Core Architectures and Programmiimg” – One Week Faculty Development Program took place during 21 November 2016 to 27 November 2016. This program embarked sessions on Symmetric and Distributed Shared Memory Architectures, SIMD and MIMD Systems, Performance Issues , Parallel program design, Synchronization and data sharing, Deadlocks and Livelocks, Programming with OpenMP, Programming with MPI and Parallel Program Development – Case studies. Academicians Dr.R.Kingsy Grace, Associate Professor – Computer Science and Engineering, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, Mr.B.Saravana Balaji, Associate Professor - Computer Science and Engineering, S.Veerasamy Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology, Puliyangudi, Tirunelveli District, Mr.P.Madhavan, Assistant Professor - Computer Science and Engineering, Sri Krishna College of Technology, Coimbatore acted as Resource persons along with members of Faculty from home department. Faculty members from department of CSE, EEE and IT of Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology registered for the program. Launch of Professional Development Series (Winter Session - I)






The Department of Computer Science and Engineering @ Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology (SRIT), Coimbatore, has launched a new series of Faculty Development Programs namely Professional Development Series on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. The central theme of this series is "Transforming the Teaching Landscape". Dr.A.Ebenezer Jeyakumar, Director Academics, SNR Sons Charitable Trust inaugurated the Professional Development Series and Dr.M.Paulraj, Principal, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology presided over the inaugural function.


This wide-ranging Professional Development Series which spans from November 2016 to February 2017 are designed catering to the professional development needs of all the categories of teaching professionals to produce a cutting edge practice in teaching-learning and upgrading themselves. Faculty plays an important role in shaping the future of the young technocrats, entrepreneurs and leaders. The best practices in sharing and collaboration of ideas by us result towards nation building. In this way, demand and supply of skilled manpower, skill upgradation, building of new skills and innovative thinking is strengthened paving way to Skill India, an initiative of Government of India.


The first program in the series “My Profession, My Commitment, My Life” – a three day Faculty Development Program took place during 16 November 2016 to 18 November 2016. This program embarked sessions on mutual exploration of teaching practices, research partnerships, collaborative authoring and other areas of mutual development like Working towards Institutional Growth, Accreditation and Quality of Education, Student Mentoring and Factors affecting Student Success.


Renowned Academicians like Dr.M.Paulraj, Principal, Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, Dr.C.R.Hema, Principal, Rathinam Technical Campus, Coimbatore, Dr.B.Sathishkumar, Professor and Head-Mechanical Engineering Department, Sri Eshwar College of Engineering, Coimbatore, Dr.K.Ravikumar, Professor-Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr.NGP Institute of Technology, Coimbatore acted as Resource persons along with members of Faculty from home department. Faculty members from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Sri Ramakrishna Polytechnic College and Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology registered for the program. The program witnessed great enthusiasm and appreciation among the participants.

“Embedded Systems” on 27.02.2016

The Department has organized a Workshop on “Embedded Systems” on 27.02.2016 to third year students of Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Mr. S. Muralidharan, CEO, Theetahex, Coimbatore and Mr. Karthik Shanmugam, Software Engineer, Robert Bosch and Business Solutions Limited, Coimbatore were the resource persons for the event.

The Department has organized a guest lecture on “Awareness on Entrepreneurship” and “Recent Scenario in Electrical Core Industry” for the benefit of final year EEE students and Second Year Students on 27.02.2016. Mr. N. Nallasivam, Senior Engineer, V-Guard Industries Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore was the resource person for the event.

The department of EEE in association with Energy Club conducted a poster presentation on “CIRCUIT THEORY” for the First year EEE and ECE students on 12.03.2016. The objective of this event is to expose the innovation and creativity of the students. From this event, students will gain knowledge about applications of circuit theory.
